Seven archaeological sites in Athens, including the Acropolis, will be closed from 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM over the coming days, through Friday, July 25th.

According to the Ministry of Culture, this decision was made due to the heatwave, for the safety of workers and visitors.
The announcement
“The Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens announces that from July 22, 2025 through July 25, 2025, the archaeological sites of the Acropolis and Slopes, Olympieion, Lykeion, Roman Agora, Ancient Agora and Hadrian’s Library will remain closed during the hours of 12:00-17:00 due to high temperatures, for the safety of workers and visitors.”
