He made particular reference to both Greece’s public and private debt. As he said, the country is now below the European average, while he highlighted the de-escalation of non-performing loans, debt settlement arrangements up to 72 installments, and primary residence protection measures. “We are trying, through successive laws, to contribute to improving citizens’ daily lives,” he stated characteristically, reminding of the arrangements the government has promoted for citizen relief, so that even the most vulnerable can benefit. Mr. Tsapalos also spoke of “fiscal populism”, while referring to support measures implemented in the fuel market, discussing the need to dispel myths. Finally, he announced that in upcoming elections he will again be a candidate in Athens with New Democracy. The discussion was moderated by Konstantinos Lambropoulos, journalist of the “Peloponnese” newspaper.
