A crime occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (20/5) at the Psychiatric Hospital in Dafni, when a patient strangled his roommate with his bare hands.
According to information, the crime took place around 03:30 this morning, inside the Psychiatric Hospital in Haidari, when two Greeks, who are patients residing in the same room, came into conflict with each other. One of the two, aged 48, strangled his 59-year-old roommate, resulting in his fatal injury.
Subsequently, following an announcement from the Psychiatric Hospital, noise was heard from room 4 and patient Z.V. was found on the floor in the 2nd psychiatric clinic. Pathologists were immediately called and CPR was started under their guidance.
At 4:15, after a call from the pathologists, the ambulance service arrived. The patient’s time of death was recorded at 5:04.
The 48-year-old then went to the nurses’ station and confessed that he had done it. At 4:35 police forces from the Haidari Police Station arrived and statements began to be taken. The perpetrator has been arrested.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Haidari Crime Investigation and Detection Department.
