A tragic workplace accident occurred Thursday morning in Patisia, Athens, following an explosion at an electrical power substation. Specifically, a 52-year-old employee of HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) who was performing maintenance work at the site on Ilia Zervou Street, was found dead after suffering electrocution.
The incident occurred at 09:50 this morning, with the 52-year-old worker found severely burned at the scene. An investigation is expected to be conducted to determine the exact causes that led to the explosion.
