Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated, regarding the upcoming visit of US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (May 13) to the Chinese capital, that “China welcomes President Trump’s official visit.”
Guo Jiakun emphasized during a press briefing that Beijing is ready to cooperate with the US to “expand cooperation and address disputes, thus bringing more stability and certainty to the world, which is under a state of changes and turbulence.”
US Treasury Secretary’s talks with Chinese Vice Premier in South Korea
On Wednesday (May 13), talks concluded between US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. The discussions took place at Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
It should be noted that the meeting between the two officials was conducted to carry out the necessary groundwork ahead of the US President’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart.
