New information is coming to light regarding the naval drone discovered in Lefkada, which has put the Coast Guard, Navy and intelligence services on high alert, with the mystery continuing to unfold.
According to Mega, a large quantity of explosives was found inside the naval drone, with Greek authorities trying to determine what the destination was and what the target of the naval drone was.
Various scenarios are being examined at this time. The drone is of Ukrainian construction and authorities are investigating the possibility that one of the targets was a Russian vessel, as a similar strike has been recorded at the port, near the Port Said port in Egypt, in March ’26, where a Russian tanker was hit by a naval drone.

It is noted that Russia had condemned the related operation and the related action. However, other possibilities are now being examined that this could be a provocation against the country.
Lefkada: Timeline of Ukrainian-type naval drone discovery – Scenarios for the existence or absence of explosives
The issue of the existence or absence of explosives inside the drone is the subject of debate, with Mega’s police correspondent, Vasilis Lambropoulos, reporting – for his part – that a large quantity of explosives was found in the naval drone.
It should be recalled that the naval drone was spotted by fishermen near Cape Doukato, in a cave in the area, with its engine still running. The black vessel, which carried high-tech systems –domes, antennas and communication equipment– caused intense concern. The fishermen themselves managed to tie it up and tow it to the port of Vasiliki, where it was taken over by the Coast Guard.
