Donald Trump’s harsh “response” to Friedrich Merz as well as NATO comes after the German Chancellor’s statements on April 26, claiming that Iran is “humiliating” the US in negotiations to end the war.
Trump’s harsh “response” to Merz and NATO: withdraws 5,000 American soldiers from Germany
As the Pentagon announced yesterday Friday (1/5), the US will withdraw 5,000 military personnel from Germany, amid the confrontation between Trump and Friedrich Merz, as well as other European allies of Washington in NATO, regarding the war against Iran.
It should be noted that the American president had threatened in recent days to reduce the presence of American armed forces in Europe, following the dispute with Friedrich Merz. In this context, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated that the withdrawal of American forces from Germany is expected to be completed within 6 to 12 months.
