The police investigation into the final moments of 19-year-old Myrto from Kefalonia has taken a different turn after revelations that she was in contact with a 66-year-old man until just hours before her death, asking him for money because she had nowhere to stay. “On Monday night, Myrto called me via video call. She was in a terrible psychological state and told me she had left home and would spend the night on park benches, saying she had no money with her. I suggested she return home, but she replied that she had no one. Then I offered to send her money so she could stay in a hotel, which I did. Two hundred and twenty euros via IRIS,” the 66-year-old man from Preveza revealed to police after voluntarily coming forward, claiming he had met the unfortunate Myrto just hours earlier through a group chat.
On the fatal night, the 19-year-old met with 23-year-old Odysseas S., also known as Olivia. A member of the trans community, according to their statements, they asked Myrto to rent an Airbnb apartment so they could relax for a few hours. Police believe this meeting was neither coincidental nor innocent. Olivia maintains their own page on an online escort services platform. Authorities are investigating whether the 19-year-old was forced into similar activities, including the possibility that intimate acts were recorded on the fatal night. “I had told Myrto that I didn’t like this person because they were involved in prostitution,” a close friend of the 19-year-old told a STAR television program.
