Reactions from relatives and survivors of the Tempi train disaster have prompted intervention from the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office regarding the suitability of the venue where the case is being tried. The head of the Larissa First Instance Prosecutor’s Office specifically ordered an urgent preliminary investigation.
According to ERT, the Prosecutor’s Office is requesting documentation from the Larissa Municipality’s urban planning department, including building permits and the fire safety file from the Larissa Fire Service.

At the same time, the office is requesting the appointment of a civil engineer expert to conduct an inspection and compile a report regarding the existence or absence of urban planning violations, the legality of existing facilities, accessibility for people with disabilities, as well as any other relevant issues.
Meanwhile, in a supplementary order, the prosecutor is asking the relevant authorities of the Justice Ministry’s technical services to provide information about the actions taken after the courtroom was received to make it suitable for use.
