New confusion appears to have emerged with the Fuel Pass, as there is information that starting tomorrow, Holy Wednesday 8/04, the application submission platform will open for every two rather than every three tax numbers. It should be noted that the three tax number model was implemented today (07/04), following the problems that arose during the first day of platform operation on Holy Monday 6/04. Based on the new model, beneficiaries submit applications based on the last digit of their tax number, so that the Fuel Pass distribution process runs smoothly. It is noted that in the first hours, more than 160,000 citizens submitted applications, while logins exceeded 3,000 per second, according to the Ministry of Digital Policy.
The system is currently operating at its limits, functioning with three tax numbers. At 6 PM, an announcement is expected from the Ministry of Digital Governance on whether the platform will ultimately operate with two or three tax numbers.

Fuel Pass: What the current procedure provides
Based on the previous procedure that was decided, applications would be made based on the last digit of the beneficiary’s tax number, specifically:
-Tuesday 7/4/2026: Applications can be submitted by beneficiaries whose tax number ends in 1, 2 and 3.
-Wednesday 8/4/2026: Applications can be submitted by beneficiaries whose tax number ends in 4, 5, 6 and 7.
-Thursday 9/4/2026: Applications can be submitted by beneficiaries whose tax number ends in 8, 9 and 0.
-From Friday 10/4/2026: The platform will remain open for all citizens, regardless of their tax number’s last digit, until 30/4/2026.
What those who want to apply should check
It is noted that applicants must check the income criteria and ownership of the vehicle whose details they register on the fuel subsidy platform. Also, each individual can declare only one vehicle or one motorcycle-moped and each vehicle can be declared by only one individual. Obviously the vehicle must be in circulation, insured and without outstanding circulation fees. It is also noted that for those who want to report their problem or ask for help, a program helpdesk operates at 2102154173, weekdays from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00, except official holidays. Citizens can also submit their questions via email at FuelPass2026@ktpae.gr.
The income criteria are as follows:
- up to €25,000 for unmarried individuals
- up to €35,000 for married couples or those who have entered into a cohabitation agreement
- increase of €5,000 for each dependent child
- for single-parent families, the limit amounts to €39,000, with corresponding increase per child
Why the subsidy amount varies
Also, the amount of the subsidy varies depending on the area of residence and the payment method, e.g. digital card or bank deposit. The Fuel Pass application is submitted on the platform with Taxis codes. Registration in the National Communication Registry must have preceded, something that can be completed electronically or through a public KEP. Upon entering the platform, the user enters the confirmation code received on their mobile from the registry, confirms the mobile number and email address that appear pre-filled from the registry in the application or updates them if required, and confirms them by pressing the relevant button.
Next, they select from the dropdown list the circulation number of the vehicle for which they wish to apply or fill in the circulation number of the vehicle of which they are a proven lessee.
Next, they select the method of receiving the subsidy (digital debit card issuance or bank deposit).
If they have chosen digital debit card issuance as the payment method, they then select the issuing organization from available options (ALPHA BANK, EUROBANK and SNAPPI Bank S.A.) or if they have chosen bank deposit as the payment method, they fill in the IBAN of the account to which they want the subsidy credited and select the banking institution to which it belongs. Special attention is required that this account must be active at the time of application submission and remain active throughout the program’s validity period.
After submission is completed and the application is approved, the amount is credited within two working days either to the bank account or to the digital card issued for this purpose. For those without access to electronic means, the procedure can also be carried out through KEPs, either with physical presence or by authorizing a third party. The subsidy credit is made within two working days from application approval.
