A severe weather system has been affecting various regions of the country over the past 24 hours, bringing rain, storms and snowfall in March, creating an impressive winter scenery with images of rare beauty.
Various regions turn white in March: Videos show snow-covered landscapes, intense hailstorm in Corfu
As shown in videos published on the Forecast Weather Greece page, snow fell in Metsovo, while snowfall was also recorded in Tzoumerka, with the Holy Monastery of Saint Paraskevi being dressed in white and temperatures dropping to zero.
Villages in Konitsa and Zagori have been covered in white, as well as mountain settlements in the region, such as Syrrako, Papigo, Fourka, Milia and Aetomilitsa, where snow covers roofs, squares and mountain landscapes.
Heavy snowfall is also occurring in areas of Western Macedonia, with Samarina, Nea Kotyli, Pisoderi and Nymfaio presenting scenes reminiscent of the heart of winter.

According to the Civil Protection of the Epirus Region, as reported by local website epiruspost, 14 snow removal vehicles have been mobilized to clear the road network, ensuring safe movement of citizens and addressing potential problems from the weather deterioration. As evident from images from these areas, this is an unusual phenomenon for the season, confirming that March can still bring intense winter surprises, especially in the country’s mountainous regions.
Intense hailstorm in Corfu
In a video from kerkyrasimera.gr website, it shows that a severe hailstorm occurred early in the morning on the island of Corfu, both in the central part and on the northern side, transforming surfaces and roads into a white landscape.
