Defense Minister Nikos Dendias delivered his message following the completion of the military parade in Athens for March 25th. “The Armed Forces of our homeland are evolving and being reformed with new systems, new philosophy, using drones and anti-drone technology, new missile systems, new concepts and new formations to provide Greek society with the great benefit of security. Not only to Greek society in the narrow sense, but as our presence in the Republic of Cyprus has proven, we protect Hellenism everywhere,” he said initially and added: “Today is a great day for Christianity. However, it is also a great day for Hellenism as the anniversary of our national rebirth.”
Palmas on March 25th: National rebirth constitutes a milestone of European significance – We thank you for support in difficult times
For his part, Cypriot Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas emphasized that the March 25th anniversary represents a “pinnacle day” of national pride for Hellenism, adding: “On the feast of the Annunciation, we pay tribute to all our ancestors. The national rebirth constitutes a milestone of European significance as it inspired liberal movements worldwide to claim their freedom and rights.”
Once again, Mr. Palmas expressed Cyprus’s gratitude to the Greek government, the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister “for their support and assistance during the difficult times we are experiencing in the broader Mediterranean and Middle East region,” with the presence of weapon systems in air and sea “to safeguard the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Cyprus.”
“Cyprus and Greece have the ability to play a substantial peacekeeping and humanitarian role in the broader region,” Mr. Palmas emphasized.
