The Ministry of Finance is moving toward extending the deadline for the 4% tax discount, responding to requests from accountants. According to current legislation, the maximum discount rate applies if the tax return is submitted by April 30 and the tax is paid in full by July 30. With the proposed regulation, the 4% discount will continue to apply for returns submitted by May 15.
Additionally, the graduated discount system remains in place for those filing their returns later. Specifically, a 3% discount is provided for returns filed by June 15, and a 2% discount for returns submitted by July 15, 2026.
Official sources emphasize that issuing the relevant decision is a matter of time, as the tax return submission platform has been open since March 16. The economic team is weighing industry requests and fiscal implications during a period of increased obligations for taxpayers and tax professionals.
