West Bloomfield police in Michigan were called Thursday to respond to an armed gunman who was shooting at a synagogue. It is not currently clear if there are any victims. Reports also indicate that a vehicle struck the building and caught fire.
The Jewish Federation of Detroit urged Jewish institutions to lock down their facilities, ensuring no one enters or exits the buildings, for security reasons.
Police are currently responding to an active shooter at Temple Israel Synagogue in Michigan.
All nearby schools and houses of worship have been told to shelter in place while police respond.
