The origin of the drones that targeted the British Bases in Akrotiri, Cyprus, was revealed for the first time by Konstantinos Kombos, speaking to the Guardian. Specifically, Cyprus’s Foreign Minister confirmed that the explosive-laden drones that were directed toward British military bases on the island in recent days were launched from Lebanon. “At this moment it is a fact that we need to be looking toward the Lebanese front,” he told the British outlet, as reported by philenews.gr.

Subsequently, Mr. Kombos added: “We cannot rule out anything from the broader direction of the northeastern areas. We must be very careful… we must ensure that the systems in place cover all threat possibilities.”
Meanwhile, Cypriot officials emphasize at every opportunity that the British bases and not the Republic of Cyprus were the target following the start of the US-led offensive against Iran. According to the Cypriot outlet, the revelation came while a European fleet and air defense assets have rushed to the EU member state, forming an unprecedented security cordon.
