Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced today, Saturday (07/03) that they are “awaiting” US forces expected to escort commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz, where maritime traffic has nearly paralyzed due to regional warfare.
“We are awaiting their presence,” stated Revolutionary Guards spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naeini, following US Energy Secretary Chris Wright’s announcement that the American navy is preparing to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz. “We advise Americans, before making any decision, to remember the fire on the American tanker Bridgeton in 1987 and the oil tankers that were recently targeted,” Naeini added, according to Fars news agency.
