Violent clashes are unfolding at this moment in central Athens, shortly after the completion of a rally commemorating the 3rd anniversary of the Tempi train disaster. Specifically, the demonstration had ended and people were asked to disperse toward Omonia and Monastiraki squares. It should be noted that the crowd – after the speeches – began to leave peacefully when suddenly intense mobilization of police forces was observed.

Masked individuals appeared, carrying stones and wooden sticks and using stun grenades and Molotov cocktails. They are currently heading toward Stadiou and Othonos streets. Police proceeded with arrests of individuals participating in the riots.
