A lengthy statement to homicide detectives at GADA (Greek Police Headquarters) was given on Tuesday (3/2) by the girlfriend of the 27-year-old, who had been abducted from his home in Elefsina and was found murdered in Nea Peramos last Sunday (1/2). The young woman, visibly shaken, described to police what happened in the early hours of January 26th, when, as she said, her boyfriend rang the doorbell and she let him in. “That night, my boyfriend rang my doorbell. Yes, I opened it for him, I saw something strange on the intercom, but I didn’t pay attention. I just noticed he was late coming up, so after an hour I went downstairs to check,” she stated.

Nea Peramos: “I’m very afraid for me and my child,” says 27-year-old’s girlfriend
When asked if she knew the 27-year-old was involved in anything illegal, his girlfriend replied that she didn’t know and that the victim didn’t discuss his professional affairs with her. “I don’t know if my boyfriend was involved in anything illegal or if he had done anything illegal. Generally, he didn’t talk to me about his work. He didn’t even tell me about his regular job,” she stated.
“I don’t know if he had enemies or if someone was threatening or bothering him. He hadn’t told me anything, but generally I never saw him afraid of anything,” she answered to a related question. As she said, the 27-year-old had some friends. “With those he hung out with, he didn’t feel danger,” she said. “They never called me to ask for ransom or for any other reason. All I can tell you is that I’m very afraid for me and my child.”
Regarding the question about the relationship the 27-year-old had with his family, “they didn’t talk much, but they didn’t fight either. They had minimal contact, he spoke more with his mother. With his father much less.” With authorities’ investigations in full swing, examining statements and video footage, police are trying to connect the puzzle pieces that will lead to a complete picture of the 27-year-old.
“A police document regarding the woman’s complaint (the 27-year-old’s girlfriend) states that at 13:00 the next day, this specific woman appeared and told us that around 21:00 that fateful night, I contacted – it doesn’t say rang the doorbell or anything else – I contacted my boyfriend, but from then on, despite repeated phone calls I made, he didn’t answer and I’m worried,” emphasized Vasilis Lambropoulos on Live News. “Then, the police officers write that we searched for videos from this incident to see what happened at that location. There, it says, we see at least two or three people, who were wearing black clothes and hoods, approaching the individual and putting him in a car.”
Nea Peramos: Was there intervention by another person?
“The woman said that in this video I recognize my boyfriend,” says Vasilis Lambropoulos, emphasizing: “We have an abduction. They don’t contact anyone, neither the woman nor any of the relatives, absolutely no one. The big question is what kind of abduction this is, what it’s targeting since no ransom is demanded, and whether there’s an attempt to convince him to do certain things that specific people want in some field.”
“What is being seriously examined is that during the kidnapping, someone who has an indirect relationship with his environment became interested, a foreigner, who appears to have called from a circle of possibly illegal people he knows and assumed who the perpetrators might be. This information is being examined. It appears there was a dispute between two groups, one learned they took the 27-year-old and the others tried to intervene, to rescue him,” he reported.
