Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis issued his own message of solidarity and support following the deadly accident in Romania. “Deeply shocked to learn of the tragic accident in Romania that cost the lives of 7 young fellow citizens. The Greek government and our Embassy are in direct cooperation with local authorities, providing every possible support,” the Prime Minister wrote in his post, expressing condolences to the victims’ families.

Health Minister Georgiadis: Three injured victims are conscious
The three injured victims of the horrific car accident in Romania are conscious, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis announced on X.

“From the first moment I learned of the tragic accident with PAOK fans in Romania, I contacted Romanian authorities, specifically my counterpart Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete and Deputy Minister for Crisis Management Raed Arafat. The three injured are conscious and are currently being transferred to Timisoara University Hospital. We will have more information about their health shortly. We are ready to provide any kind of assistance needed or transfer them to Greece if doctors deem it necessary. We have excellent cooperation with Romanian authorities, whom we thank. I express my sincere condolences and deep grief to the victims’ families and the great PAOK family for this tragic accident.”
