Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a brief discussion with Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni following the end of the cabinet meeting. It should be noted that strong reactions were provoked by the fact that Olga Kefalogianni was among the first to make use of a provision that came in a Finance Ministry bill recently, concerning child custody arrangements.
She made use of the regulation as shortly before the provision came to parliament, a court decision had been issued granting joint custody of the children to herself and her former husband, with the Tourism Minister facing criticism for what appeared to be tailor-made legislation.
She defended her use of this provision, stating that it was voted on with a broad majority and that she made use of it because her ministerial position does not mean fewer rights as a citizen.
