In deep sorrow, relatives, friends and classmates bid farewell to 14-year-old Spyros, who drowned in the Arachthos River while trying to save his 12-year-old friend. The funeral is taking place at the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi in Arta.
With flowers in their hands and wearing black and white shirts, dozens of people are saying their final goodbye to Spyros, who gave life to others through his parents’ courageous decision to donate his organs. His body arrived at the church accompanied by crowds of people, while he is also being bid farewell by Andreas Iliades, the director of the Pediatric ICU at Rio Hospital.
