Emergency crews rushed to Heraklion in Crete when a 27-year-old man was found dead in Kastri Viannou after falling into a ravine. A major rescue operation was launched to locate him, with Fire Service units, EMAK rescue teams, and police rushing to the scene from the first moment, while volunteers also participated. However, the operation had a tragic outcome as the unfortunate man was recovered dead from the location, as confirmed to Cretalive by the mayor of Viannou, Pavlos Baritakis.

Heraklion: 27-year-old hunter found dead after falling into ravine
According to reports, the young man had gone to the area for hunting. Under circumstances that remain unclear, he apparently slipped and fell into a ravine over 20 meters deep. When he was found, he was unconscious. Rescuers pulled him from the difficult terrain and transported him to the Health Center, where his death was confirmed. According to the same reports, the 27-year-old was not alone but was accompanied on the hunt by at least one other person.
