Police authorities in Tripoli arrested singer Aris Mougkopetros yesterday following a complaint filed by his wife for domestic threats. According to sources, the artist is being held at Tripoli Security and is expected to appear before the competent prosecutor today, Friday (26/12).

Aris Mougkopetros: Why he was arrested – What happened with his wife
The incident occurred on Christmas Day when the musician went to the house where his wife was staying and, according to sources, an intense confrontation followed. The woman went to Tripoli Police Station and filed a complaint against him, which preceded the events chronologically.
Shortly after, police called Aris Mougkopetros to the station. He reportedly came to file a complaint for minor abduction, but was arrested as part of the flagrante delicto procedure. According to the same sources, the couple has been separated recently, while his wife was given a panic button for protection reasons.
In his first comment to MEGA, Aris Mougkopetros stated: “Ever since I stopped working due to my disability, our entire family situation has changed. Because I can’t bring money to my family. My only goal is to see my children. It’s Christmas, I wanted to see my children.”
The singer remains in custody and will appear before the prosecutor today for further proceedings.
Mougkopetros’ lawyer resigned and took on his wife’s case
Another element that comes to light is that one day before, the lawyer who handled his legal affairs after the accident in which he lost two fingers, resigned as his representative.
Yesterday, 24/12, Konstantinos Al. Papanastasiou made his decision known through a letter, without explaining the reasons, while he has now taken on his wife’s case in their mutual dispute.
The lawyer’s full statement: “I would like to announce the completion of my collaboration with my client, Aristeidis Mougkopetros, regarding his criminal cases, which are the result of his injury in April 2025, the handling of which I had undertaken from then until today.
This decision was made after mature consideration and after identifying unbridgeable differences regarding the handling method and strategy of these cases, which have now made it impossible to continue cooperation within a framework of mutual trust and alignment.
Throughout our collaboration, I performed my duties with professionalism, consistency and complete dedication to defending my client’s interests, respecting both the legal profession and the principles that govern it.
This announcement clarifies that the termination of our cooperation is not accompanied by any further statement on the substance of the cases.
Recognizing the time and effort devoted to handling Mr. Mougkopetros’ cases, I sincerely wish him the best for the future and every success in his further journey, both legal and medical, and on the occasion of these days, Merry Christmas with health to all.
