As Christmas approaches, renowned meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis warned on OPEN TV that the latest forecast data shows unstable weather conditions. As he explained, the gradual collapse of the anticyclone begins Friday, paving the way for severe weather systems to enter the country.
Marousakis: “Consecutive severe weather systems from Saturday until year-end”
Specifically, the severe weather system currently affecting Morocco is expected to impact Greece over the weekend, starting Saturday in western and northwestern regions, primarily in coastal and maritime areas. According to the meteorologist, this first weather system will mainly affect western, central and southern Greece, opening the path for subsequent severe weather patterns.
The trend, as noted by Klearchos Marousakis, forecasts consecutive severe weather systems from Saturday until the end of the year, featuring heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, while towards year-end a colder air mass is expected to arrive. This will lead to temperature drops and snowfall even at lower altitudes, creating particularly unstable weather conditions for the holidays.
