Salamina: What the confessed perpetrator claimed in her testimony about the murder
According to sources, the confessed perpetrator claimed in her statement that she didn’t intend to kill her mother-in-law, but chose a day when she knew the woman who cared for her daily wouldn’t be home. The accused claimed that when she broke the window, her 75-year-old mother-in-law recognized her, so she attacked her with a bottle and a knife. The injuries sustained by the 75-year-old were multiple and didn’t justify the violence, according to officers who handled the case. They realized there was personal motive, hatred, something uncommon in robbery-murder cases. The wounds were multiple, from both the bottle and the knife. The elderly woman obviously recognized her daughter-in-law, causing the latter to take her life so she wouldn’t reveal anything. After killing her, she grabbed the money inside the house and several expensive pieces of jewelry she knew were in drawers, then disappeared.
Police, with the help of security camera footage, the unknown perpetrator’s timeline, forensic results, and witness testimonies from area residents, identified the victim’s own daughter-in-law. The accused is expected to be brought before the competent Piraeus prosecutor with charges of homicide, weapons law violations, and robbery.
